大哥，大姐帮我翻译一篇文章好吗？ Many people think that we can learn a lot about the culture of a foreign country simply by living in the country. However , this is not necessarily true. Often, the longer we stay in a foreign country, the more we realize how little we actually know about the culture of that country.
Books and talks about other people's culture can be even dangerous because they talk much about cultural differences, and sometimes a lot of the information they contain is untrue.
In an research recently carried out in Britain, people were asked to make a list of anything that they thought was typification(代表) of Britain and would interest foreign people there. Most people mentioned Shakespeare, the Queen, and umbrellas. Although all of these features（特征） can be found in British culture, they do not mean the real interests of ordinary British people completely think are typical. What is surprising is that they were mentioned by British people themselves by referring to their culture! If people have such an incorrect idea of their own culture, how much more false would their idea of other cultures be!
