结合派生词记忆：identically ad. 相同地This is the identical room we stayed in last year. 这是我们去年住过的同一个房间。
【辨析】 identical和same都表示相同，但identical强调exactly the same, 即完全同一个，一模一样，而same只有相似的，相同的意思。

ignore* v. 不顾，不管；忽视
记忆技巧结合近义词记忆：neglect v. 忽略You’ve been ignoring me. 你一直不把我放在眼里。
【辨析】 ignore和neglect都表示忽视，忽略。其中neglect有故意不打招呼，不予理睬之意。
例：I said hello, but she neglected me completely! 我向她打招呼，可她根本不理我！
ill a. 有病的，坏的 ‖ ad. 坏；不利地
记忆技巧结合近义词记忆：sick a. 有病的He’s been ill for 2 weeks. 他病了两个星期了。
Their children are ill cared for. 他们的孩子疏于照料。
【辨析】 ill和sick都有病的意思。sick只作表语，美语常用。ill除了生病之外还表示不好的，恶意的。例：people of ill repute 名声不好的人。另外sick还有恶心呕吐的意思。

记忆技巧结合反义词记忆：legal a. 合法的It’s illegal to push drugs. 贩毒是违法的。
illness* n. 病，疾病
记忆技巧结合近义词记忆：disease n. 疾病We’ve had a lot of illness in the family. 我们家的人患过很多病。
illustrate★ v. 说明，阐明；给…做插图说明
记忆技巧结合近义词记忆：explain v. 说明，解释To illustrate my point I have done a comparative analysis. 为了说明我的观点，我做了比较分析。
illustration★ n. 说明，图解；例证；插图
记忆技巧结合派生词记忆：illustrative a. 解说性的Illustration is often more useful than definition for showing what words mean. 用图解或示例解释词义往往比用定义解释更清楚。
image* n. 像，形象；映象，图象
记忆技巧结合派生词记忆：imagery n. 画像，塑像According to the Bible, God created man in his image. 据圣经记载，上帝按自己的形象创造了人。

【辨析】 immigrate和emigrate两个词形很接近，但意义完全相反。immigrate是从外国移居到国内来生活，emigrate则是从国内移民去国外。
