Good evening, ladies and gentle men. What a beautiful night, with light winds, I’m so pleased to give you my speech, on such a lovely day.
First of all, I’d like to introduce myself to you, I’m from class four, and my name’s YuHaitao, you can call me my English name: fish. I consider myself to be a boy full of confidence and happiness. See, today, I came here with an air of winning.
OK, I am now beginning my speech£¬with the honor of standing proudly in the territory of our motherland.
My title is:
  ARE WE READY?
The flames of the 29th Olympic torch, waded across huge mountains and vast seas, strode through sunny days and peaceful nights, and finally arrived in china.
This is the time that strengthens the combination between China and the world, this is the time that we Chinese realize our Olympic dream of a hundred years, and this is the time when all dreams of man come true.
The moment that the former chairman of the international Olympic Committee, Samaranch said“Beijing, China”, we knew that, the world had chosen China, and China, now, the waking dragon, is due, to show his amiability, to unfold his brilliant culture, to present his development, and to emerge his respect for the whole world.
The great Olympics is just around the corner, the whole world is coming to join and enjoy days of unity and peace, China, the cradle of 5000 years of splendid culture, is preparing his best for the great games, but as individuals, or I should say, as common people, what shall we do to contribute to the Olympics?
It seems to me that the vital but also easiest thing is BEHAVE OURSELVES.
Behave ourselves, try our best to become examples and models of every other Chinese to follow. Try to plant more trees, to make the sky brighter, the air fresher, the avenues cleaner, and the lakes bluer. In public, behave ourselves from the easiest matter, try to pick up every small litter, try to stop others spitting around, try to save as much water as possible, try to cycle to school if don’t have to take a car, try to speak standard Chinese well, try to speak English well, whenever you see somebody in need of help, go ahead, give him a hand, remember that passion and patience are needed in a well cultivated Chinese.
But all these are not enough, not only should we behave ourselves, we should also call on everyone around to join and work together with us, because one is far from enough, we need the whole nation.
Only through making everyone aware of this point and attaching importance to working together, can we work together more efficiently to achieve the goal: Green Beijing, Green Olympic. Can we finally understand the true meaning of One World One Dream.
And I also believe that, we should also exercise more to strengthen our bodies, because we Chinese are going to present the whole world a healthier, faster and stronger population. Try to do exercise for at least 20mins every day, for me, I carry on jogging down the road every morning, and I’m recently learning Tai-Ji, because I think it in a way stands for our splendid Chinese culture.
Well, all efforts should be spared, every Chinese should be on work, to achieve the goal that we Chinese are going to make it the most successful Olympics that the world has ever known.
Dear friends, we didn’t know your names, you haven’t seen our faces, but we can feel the unspoken heart words of each other, we are here today to know each other, to shed sweats of happiness with each other, and to embrace each other, because we have spent too much time apart.
My dear friends, stretch out your hands, make loud claps, and speak proudly to people from all over the world“welcome to China, welcome to BeiJing, WE ARE READY”
Thank you.
