Mrs. Smith:For most of my neighbors, I get along well with them. Mrs.Jones:Is there any exception? Mrs. Smith:Yes, thats Mr.s Zhang. Her husband is a boss. She likes to show off everywhere. Mrs.Jones:Almost all rich people like to show off. Mrs. Smith:Not only I, but also many of my neighbors have dropped acquaintance with her. Mrs.Jones:Thats the best way if you cant put up with her. Mrs. Smith:How about your neighbors? Mrs.Jones:I live in my villa, so I have only one neighbor, Mrs. Clinton. Shes a widow. Mrs. Smith:How about your relationship? Mrs.Jones:She was left alone after her husbands death. But she is an optimistic person. Indeed, she just send me a present on my birthday. I want to send something return. Mrs. Smith:Human beings have a natural impulse to love and to be loved. Dialogue 1 John:Mom, the new neighbors have just arrived. Look, the moving van is backing into their driverway. Jenny and I should go and say hello. I think they have kids of our age. Mom:They do. I met Mr. and Mrs. Lee, when they first came to look at the house. John:Do you kown the kids names? Mom:The girls name is Angela and the boys name is billy. Jenny:What are we waiting for? Lets go! Dad:Not so fast! Theyre probably very tired from their trip. Give them time to relax a little and get organized. Jenny:But we could help them carry their things in. Dialogue 2 Mike:Good morning! Moving in? Richard:Yes, I am. Mike:My names Mike; Im your next-door neighbor. Richard:How are you doing, Mike? My names Richard. Mike:Is there anything I can do to help you? Richard:Oh thats Okay. Thanks for the offer, though. Mike:Are you sure? Richard:Yeah everythings just about moved in. Say, would you like to come in for some coffee? Mike:Year thats a good idea! Let me get this chair... Richard:Oh, thanks! Mike:Sure it is hot today! It must be a hundred degrees outside! Richard:Would you like something cool to drink? Iced tea? Coa-cola? Some juice? Mike:Iced tea would be just fine - with a slice of lemon? Richard:Okay! Would you have some sugar or honey in your tea? Mike:A little sugar would be fine... and a slice of lemon? Richard:Okay... there you go... Mike:Thank you!Mmmmm this is delicious! Richard:Im glad you like it. Are you hungry? I just baked a fresh strawberry pie ... its fresh out of the oven... Mike:Sounds delicious. Id like a little slice. Dialogue 3 A:Hi,there ... May I help you? B:Oh, Im sorry to bother you, but my car wont start. Can you help me? A:Ah, well, lets take a look, shall we? let me give it a try. (a few minutes later) A:I found the problem; it seems to be the battery. B:This sounds fine now. You let the car drive around a little bit an itll charge the battery up. A:OK. Thank you so much for your help. Here, let me give you this for your trouble. B:No, no... what are neighbors for if not to help out in an emergency?
