考研英语复习备考之英语谚语
中国大学网考研： 谚语，是人们在生活经验的基础上创作出来的'，言简意赅。因此特点，谚语常常被运用与文章中，使语言活泼风趣，增强文章的表现力。细读考研文章，不难发现谚语的应用。以《历年真题解析——命题剖析与复习指导》中2007年的考研真题Text 1的25题为例:25. Which of the following proverbs is closest to the message the text tries to convey?
【A】”Faith will move mountains.”
【B】”One reaps what one sows.”
【C】”Practice makes perfect.”
【D】”Like father, like son.”
这道试题就是用谚语来考查考生对文章主题的理解。从中不难看出，谚语的掌握是不可或缺的。在此基础上，总结了以下谚语，供考生学习。

17. A cat may look at a king. 猫也可以打量国王 意为:人人平等
18. A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit. 吃一堑，长一智
19. All that ends well is well. 结果好，就一切都好
20. A good beginning is half done. 良好的开端是成功的一半
21. Faith will move mountains. 精诚所至，金石为开
22. One reaps what one sows. 种瓜得瓜，种豆得豆
23. Practice makes perfect. 熟能生巧
24. Like father, like son. 有其父必有其子
25. A rolling stone gathers no moss. 滚石不生苔
意为：朝三暮四，没有定性的人，永远不会有大成就。
