1. The company， a major energy supplier in New England， provoked justified outrage in Vermont last week when it announced it was reneging on a longstanding commitment to abide by the strict nuclear regulations. （2012. 阅读。 Text 2）
【译文】在新英格兰地区，一家主要能源供应商 Entergy 公司上周声称不准备兑现长期严格遵守核能法规的承诺，这在佛蒙特州理所当然激起了众怒。
【析句】本句主句为The comapy provoked justified outrage，a major energy supplier……作the company的同位语，进一步解释说明；when it announced作定语从句修饰last week，同时announced后it was reneging……作宾语从句，to abide by the strict nuclear regulations作后置定语修饰commitment.
2. Instead， the company has done precisely what it had long promised it would not challenge the constitutionality of Vermont‘s rules in the federal court， as part of a desperate effort to keep its Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant running. （2012. 阅读。 Text 2）
