1.Unfortunately， L.A. Unified has produced an inflexible policy which mandates that with the exception of some advanced courses， homework may no longer count for more than 10% of a student‘s academic grade. （2012. 阅读。 Text 1）
【译文】不幸的是，洛杉矶学区通过了一项不可变更的政策：除了高等课程，家庭作业在学分中所占比例不可以超过10%.
【析句】多重复合句，主句为L.A. Unified has produced an inflexible policy，which mandates作policy的定语从句，mandates后是that引导的宾语从句。宾语从句中主句为homework may no longer count for……，with the exception of ……是介词短语作伴随。
2.But if the district is essentially giving a pass to students who do not do their homework because of complicated family lives， it is going riskily close to the implication that standards need to be lowered for poor children. （2012. 阅读。 Text 1）
【译文】但如果该学区因为学生家庭复杂而不做家庭作业就给他通过的话，那么这就意味着对于贫穷孩子，标准要降低。
【析句】多重复合句，主干包括主句和if引导的条件状语从句。主句为it is going riskily close to the implication，that standard need to be lowered……是implication的同位语从句；if引导条件状语从句中，又包括who do not do their homework作students的定语从句。
3.The homework rules should be put on hold while the school board， which is responsible for setting educational policy， looks into the matter and conducts public hearings. （2012. 阅读。 Text 1）
【译文】学校董事会是教育政策的制定者，在它调查此事并进行公众意见听证会的时候，家庭作业的规则应该暂停实施。
【析句】The homework rules should be put on hold是主句，while引导时间状语从句，逗号后，which引导非限制性定语从句，修饰逗号前的整句话，定语从句中有三个并列的动词，is responsible，looks into……和conducts.
