篇一：

寓言故事金链子

Once upon a time, there was a poor fisherman who always dreamed of becoming rich. He wished to become a millionaire, and so did his wife. He had heard from some old men before, that several ships loaded with diamonds and gold had once sunk in the nearby seashore. Because of this, for a long time he kept searching that whole area for this treasure.

One day, while he was sitting on the boat daydreaming, he suddenly felt that the fishing rod was being weighed down by a heavy object. He excitedly pulled hard at it, and what he saw made him exclaim, "Wow! A big, shiny gold chain!" He pulled hard at the gold chain to get it into the boat, but there seemed to be no end to it. His boat started to get over-loaded and the sea water filled his boat.

However, he had begun dreaming of a big house, a big piece of land and buying horses and cows...He kept pulling in the chain though the boat kept sinking. The boat was finally submerged and he struggled to stay afloat. Unfortunately his feet were entangled in the gold chain and he drowned.

很久以前，有个贫穷的渔夫，总是梦想发财，他希望自己成为百万富翁，他妻子更是如此。他曾听一些老人讲过，过去有几艘载满金银珠宝的船只沉没在这附近的海域里。因此，长期以来，他一直在这一带的海域里搜寻着，希望能打捞到一些金银珠宝。

有一天，他出海捕鱼，当他坐在船上想入非非时，忽然感到钓线被非常沉重的东西拖住了。他一下兴奋起来，使劲地往上拉鱼线，当鱼线拖出水面时，他不禁大声尖叫起来：“哗!金光闪闪的长金链!”他喜出望外，拼命地把金链往船上拖，可是金链很长，似乎没有尽头。由于金链很重，小船严重超载，海水灌进了船内。

然而，他却依旧做着没完没了的黄粱美梦：“我可以买一幢大房子，置一大片稻田，再买下几头牛、几匹马…”尽管小船一直往下沉，他却依然贪心地拖着金链。最后，小船终于沉下去了。他在水中拼命挣扎想游出水面，然而不幸的是，他的双脚被金链缠住了，结果他被淹死了。

篇二：

乡村的道路

Very far away from the city lived a poor farmer and his wife. In front of their house was a small dirt road. Very few cars drove on this road because it was so far from the city. On the dirt road, there was a big hole filled with water. The hole was very deep, but drivers on the road didn’t Know just how deep.Drives always drove into the hole,but they never drove out.

One day,a man in a new car was driving down the road. He saw the hole with the water,but he didn’t think it was very deep.He drove into the hole,but he couldn’t drive out. The man saw the farmer on his tractor working in the field,and he signaled to the farmer. The farmer drove over to the man in the new car.

"Is there a problem?" asked the farmer.

"Yes,"said the man. "My car is stuck in this hole.Can you help me?"

"Maybe," said the farmer." But I'm very busy."

"If you help me, I'll pay you,"said the man.

"OK," said the farmer. The farmer pulled the car out of the hole with his tractor,and the man paid him a lot of money. The man looked at the farmer and said, "You must make a lot of money pulling cars out of this hole day and night."

"Actually, no,"said the farmer.

"Why not?"asked the man."The hole is very deep,and a lot of people get stuck and ask for help.But I don't make money day and night because I don't pull cars out at night."

"At night I'm busy filling the hole with water,"answer the farmer.

离城市非常远的地方住着一个贫穷的农夫和他的妻子。在他们的房子前面是一条很小的土路。非常少的车辆驶过这条道路，因为它离城市是如此的远。在这条土路上，有一个很大的充满了水的洞。这个洞非常深，但是在这条路上的司机并不知道多深。司机们总是驶进洞中，而且从他们没有驶出来。

一天，一个人开着一辆新轿车正驶在这条道路上。他看到了这个有水的洞，但是他认为洞不是很深。他驶进了这个洞中，但是他不能驶出来了。这个人看到农夫正驾驶着拖拉机在田地理工作，于是他对这个农夫打招呼。农夫向这个人坐的轿车驶过来。

“有难题吗?”农夫问。“是的，”这个人回答。

“我的轿车载进这个洞里了。你能帮助我吗?”

“也许可以，”农夫回答。“但是我非常忙。”

“如果你帮助我，我将付您钱，”这个人说。

“好吧。”农夫说。

农夫用他的拖拉机把轿车从洞里拉了出来，然后这个人付给他很多钱。

这个男人看着农夫说，“你日夜从这个洞里拉轿车出来一定赚了很多钱。”

“实际上不是这样，”农夫说。

“为什么不?”这个男人问。“这个洞非常深，有很多陷进去的人请求帮助。但是我没有日夜赚钱。

篇三：

七只老鼠的南瓜车

Early autumn in the pumpkin garden, there came seven wide mice escaping from a big and terrifying cat. They rushed into green vines and leaves aplenty with big and round pumpkins.

南瓜园的初秋，跑进了七只野老鼠，他们正在逃避一只可怕的大猫。他们冲进了层层叠叠的绿色南瓜藤和南瓜叶，上面正结满了又大又圆的南瓜。

The prideful cat hunted around like a chicken with its head cut off in vain and finally left in dismay.

高傲的猫就像无头苍蝇一样四处寻找但一无所获，最后只好灰溜溜地走了。

“Hooray, we are safe now!”

“万岁，我们现在安全了!”

When they came out, they were deeply attracted. The giant pumpkin leaves were as huge as the lotus leaves while the pumpkins were orange through a summer’s sunlight.

当他们出来时，被眼前的情景给深深地吸引了。大南瓜叶像荷叶一般大，而南瓜经过一个夏天的日照已呈金黄色。

The smallest mouse’s nose jutted out and got very close to a pumpkin. He smelled with a smile:

最小的一只老鼠伸出了鼻子，非常近地靠近一只南瓜，他闻了一下便笑了：

“Great, it’s sweat! It must be the biggest pumpkin I’ve ever seen. I am hungry now. I guess it must be better in my belly!”

“太棒了，好甜呀!这肯定是我见过的最大的南瓜了!我饿了，我猜它呆在我肚子里会比较好!”

Other six mice were hungry to

“Running costs energy!”

另外六只老鼠也饿了：

“逃跑消耗能量!”

They rushed to the pumpkin and bit holes with their shape teeth. They ate, ate and ate not only the delicious meat but also the seed. Finally they stopped eating and felt good for their full and round bellies.

他们冲到那只南瓜前，用锋利的牙齿咬开洞洞。他们吃啊，吃啊，吃啊，不仅品尝了美味的南瓜肉还有可口的南瓜籽。最后，他们的肚子变得滚圆滚圆才心满意足地作罢!

Then they burped and climbed out of the pumpkin. When they saw their great work, they all laughed:

“Aha, look, the pumpkin has holes here and there!”

“啊哈，看呀，这南瓜已经千疮百孔了!”

The smallest mouse suddenly had a good idea and shouted:

“Why not roll it as a pumpkin cart. It must be very interesting!”

最小的老鼠突然有了一个好主意便叫道：

“为什么不把它滚起来就像南瓜车一样，这肯定非常有趣!”

Other six mice all agreed:

“Just do it!”

另外的六只老鼠附和道：

“想做就做!”

Then they all entered the pumpkin shell and pushed it ahead forcefully。

金丝雀与蝙蝠

A bird was confined in a cage outside a window. She often sang at night when all other birds were asleep.

One night a bat came. He asked the bird why she was silent by day and sang only at night.

The bird answered, “Last year when I was singing in the daytime, a bird catcher heard my voice and caught me in his net.Since then I have never sung by day.”

The bat replied, "But it is useless to do this now that you have become a prisoner." Then he flew away.

●挂在窗口笼里的金丝雀，经常在鸟儿睡着的夜里歌唱。

●一天晚上，蝙蝠来了，飞过来问她为什么白天安静无声，夜里却要歌唱。

●金丝雀回答说：“去年我在白天唱歌时，捕鸟人听到我的歌声抓住了我。从此，我再也不在白天唱歌了。”

●蝙蝠说：“你现在才懂得谨慎已没用了，你若在变为囚徒之前就懂得，那该多好呀!”说完就飞走了。

寓意: 我们应该在危险发生之前就提高警觉，因为危险一旦发生，我们再怎样小心也没有用了
