"Brave" is the latest animated film from Pixar, and therefore becomes the film the parents of the world will be dragged to by their kids. The good news is that the kids will probably love it, and the bad news is that parents will be disappointed if theyre hoping for another Pixar groundbreaker. Unlike such brightly original films as "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo," "WALL-E" and "Up," this one finds Pixar poaching on traditional territory of Disney, its corporate partner. We get a spunky princess; her mum, the queen; her dad, the gruff king, an old witch who lives in the woods, and so on.
The princess is Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), seen in an action-packed prologue as a flame-haired Scottish tomboy whose life is changed by an early birthday gift of a bow, which quickly inspires her to become the best archer in the kingdom. Then we flash forward to Merida as a young lady of marriageable age, who is startled by request from Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) to choose among three possible husbands chosen by her clan.
Nothing doing, especially since all three candidates are doofuses. Merida leaps upon her trusty steed and flees into the forest, where her friends the will-o-the-wisps lead her to the cottage of a gnarled old witch (Julie Walters). She begs for a magic spell that will change Queen Elinors mind, but it changes more than that: It turns Elinor into a bear. Witches never know how to stop when theyre ahead.
Luckily, the magic spell comes with an escape clause. Merida has exactly two days to reverse the charm. After she and her mother absorb what has happened, they begin to work together and grow closer than ever, even though the queen cannot speak. There is a tricky complication. King Fergus (Billy Connolly) had his leg bitten off by a bear (in the prologue), and has been indisposed toward them ever since. Unsurprisingly, when he sees his wife as a bear, he fails to recognize her.
And so on. This is a great-looking movie, much enlivened by the inspiration of giving Merida three small brothers, little redheaded triplets. The Scottish Highlands are thrillingly painted in astonishing detail, and some action shows Meridas archery more than equal in assorted emergencies.
"Brave" has an uplifting message about improving communication between mothers and daughters, although transforming your mom into a bear is a rather extreme first step. Elinor is a good sport, under the circumstances. But Merida is far from being a typical fairy-tale princess. Having flatly rejected the three suitors proposed by her family, she is apparently prepared to go through life quite happily without a husband, and we can imagine her in later years, a weathered and indomitable Amazon queen, sort of a Boudica for the Scots. "Brave" seems at a loss to deal with her as a girl and makes her a sort of honorary boy.

People in the cuckoo`s nest who are compelled to eat medicine and listen harsh music and are not allowed to watch the ball game are threated badly.Although they always complain about the Cuckoo`s nest ,it never occurred that they want to flew over this disgusting place .They has adapted to the life of being principled ,and their awareness of resistance has died out. When Memurphy comes to there ,he begins to resist the authority of nurse Ralched by claiming to turn down the music and change the schedual to watch the ball game and bring people outside to go fishing. At last , the chief`s awareness of resistence comes to be aroused and leave
this water that is slowly heated successfully.
My review of The King`s Speech
The success of the king`s speech lies in his strong perseverance as well as an equal and trustful relationship has been built between the king and Dr Longue.
There is no doubt that the king is a man with a strong will,which is one factor of his success .In order to overcome his stuttering problem,he meets many doctors and suffers a lot,but he always doesn`t give up.At the beginning of the film,he puts up with the suffer of ingr seven marbles,which gets him angry at last.He still goes to see Dr Longue although he has told his wife not to introduce any doctors to him .Besides,he insists on repeating tongue twisters even when he goes out to persuade his brother David.
Another factor is that there is a relationship with total equality and trust.Owing to the king is faithful in Lionel,he can accept his special methods without hesitation,such as
jumping ,shouting ,rolling on the ground,ect..Due to the equality and trust,the king considers Lionel as his friend,and shares what he has experienced when he was a child and his fear of his father and brother.So that Lionel gives the king faith in his voice and makes him believe in himself through communication with the king and stimulation by siting on Saint Edward`s chair. Therefore,the king can have courage to give a successful speech and becomes the symbol of nation resistence.

In preparation for writing this comment, which I am compelled to write for reasons which will become clear, I read a fair few of the major critics to see, if on this occasion, they had seen and felt what I had.
James Bernadelli suggests this film should be known as the "Pursuit of Richness"; another column I have read suggests that the money-will-solve-your-problems resolution is depressing and not the message Hollywood (or art in general) should be trying to put across.
I ask myself when the last occasion might have been that any of these critics genuinely had to :spoiler: run, under painful, embarrassing duress, from a cab - because they didnt have the money; or when the forces of life seemed to conspire against them so unfairly that they broke down in tears. Spoiler: when your wealthy boss, who you CANNOT disappoint, asks you to borrow the last five dollars in your wallet, and you know that that money is all you have in the world - to feed your family, to pay your gas.
You go through times in life when you feel that things couldnt possibly get worse - and then they do - and then they do again. Sometimes, (like Chris and son at the beach towards the end of the film) you just want to get away from it all, other times you cry. Sometimes, and this is rare, you laugh - because if you dont youll cry. You know that if you let it all become too much, you will sink to the bottom of the sea.
Chris Gardner (not the real one perhaps, but the one in this movie) is my personal hero; my shining example; my inspiration - the guy that never allows himself to sink - even when he can feel his shoelaces trailing on the seabed.
I realised as I was watching this film that I was watching another me, so I never once stopped rooting for Chris. When he :spoiler: fixes the scanner in the shelter, I felt like I had fixed it.
Im still working on getting the job that earns me enough to have a less painful life - when Chris finally achieves it, I want it for him so badly that I feel it in the very fibre of my being.
I suppose that it doesnt matter that much that Chris wants to succeed as much for his son as for himself. In a way, the fact that Chris has a son makes this movie emotionally frightening and if (and only if) our basest fears are being toyed with by the director, it is only in exactly the same way that we sometimes look up in to the sky and say - like Jim Carrey in "Bruce Almighty" - is there anything else you could possibly do to me today? In my life, God doesnt appear and explain why he keeps toying with me. The truest belief is in oneself and one must never lose it.
I adore this movie and I couldnt be more grateful for its existence. It comes at a time when I need it most. Its message: Keep going - never, ever give up.
And so I come back to those reviewers. Money certainly doesnt mean happiness in this existence, but no money, in this cruel capitalist world, can cost you your life. Do not be judgmental of those who want more, it might just be enough to pay for their son to eat, to keep a roof over his head, to keep their dignity. This film is not about rags-to-riches as some reviewers have said. Its not about the American dream either. It is about dignity and integrity and how money (or lack thereof) could easily strip you of both.
Chris Gardner never loses either and for this, he is an inspiration to us all.

Mark Twains short story of "one million pounds" is a very good work. The article on the "money is everything," "money is omnipotent," the idea of a satire, to expose the ugly face of capitalist society.

A Film Review of The King’s Speech I have seen many movies, and The King’s Speech is one of the best movies. In 2011, the British film
took four awards at the Academy Award, including Best Picture. It is an extraordinary film.
Duke of York, Albert, the second son of King GeorgeⅤ, was asked to make a speech in The British Empire Exhibition in
1925. But he had stutter, he couldn’t say fluently, so he made a fool in public. After that, Albert and his wife Elizabeth began to find a doctor who is able to help Albert. But nobody succeeded. Until 1934, they met Dr. Lionel Logue. Nearly despair Albert began to try Logue’s strange way. In the meantime, in 1936,King GeorgeⅤdied, and Albert’s brother David was the new king, King Edward VIII. But David wanted to marry Mrs.
Simpson who divorced a man, so he abdicated. Albert was the new king, King George VI. In 1939, Adolf Hitler invaded
Poland, Britain declared war on Germany. King George VI must make a speech to British people. With Logue’s help, King
George VI finished the exciting speech excellently. The movie is touching, I like it very much, it is educational, too. It shows me the power of trust, friendship and love.

This is a simple story about a loyal dog.There is no intricate plot,and even it is only a straight still,but it was still moved me deeply with its most simple pieces of normal life which we can easily find around us such as the train station,the restaurant, the food stand and a warm home.Maybe you will only think it is a moving film; maybe you had been impressed by the loyal of the dog;or maybe you will think there is nothing special and it is just a movie. But I view it differently.
The story is rearranged by a real story.Hatchi is an unusual dog which belongs to akita.The real Hatchi,the dog in this story, was born in Odatr Japan in 1923.As soon as his master Dr.Eisabour Uero,a professor at Tokyo University,died in May 1925. Hatchi returned to the Shibuya train station the next day after professor died and for the next nine years to wait,until Hatchi himself died.
In the movie Hatchi crossed an ocean and thousands of miles of transportation by train,and then he met Parker (the main actor) in a snowy day.Because it was snowing and the dog, Hatchi,was lost.Parker took Hatchi back to his home,and then kept it.Parker treated it very well and so did Hatchi.When Hatchi had grown up,he fetched parker to work everyday.
All these years they played together,bathed together, slept together and Parker gave Hatchi full-body massage everyday.They just look like a couple.Parker looks happy because Hatchi is happy,and Hatchi’s happy due to Parker being happy. But Hatchi never fetched ball for anyone even Parker,so he went to his Japanese friend,Ken,for help.Ken told Parker that the akita will never get the ball unless there are some special reasons.However,Parker didn’t notice what Ken told him.In the morning of last day of Parker’s life,Hatchi felt that something bad would happen to Parker,and it tried his best to stop Parker going to work,and Hatchi fetched ball for Parker to tell him to stop.But it was pity that Parker only paid all his attention to Hatchi’s first fetching and ignored the special reasons of fetching. He said “Come on boy,I have to go to work or I’ll be late.See you at 5.Stay! Go home!Go on.”
Finally,the old professor,Parker,hadn’t come back as he said,and he will never come back.He broke the engagement he made with Hatchi.He left everybody on the earth up to heaven.As the old professor’s friends and relatives nobody could accepted the fact that Parker has dead.As the result,professor’s wife,Kate,escaped all the staff which will let she recall the memories about Parker,so she sold the house where they used to live and was away from the small town.
Meanwhile she sent Hatchi to her daughter,but Hatchi always ran out of her house,and try its best to back to station,because Hatchi and professor had a deal to meet each other.He’s so firmly persisted on the engagement that Parker’s daughter,Andy,had to gave up and let it go.While, have you ever noticed the detail that how unwilling Hatchi was when it left professor,because Hatchi cant apart with Andy,too.But he missed Parker too much, he had to Andy and his warm home.
Then Hatchi spent ten years waiting for his master,his only friend coming back.Ten years time,maybe it is just one-tenth of a human life,but for a dog that means its whole life.During those years Hatchi hadn’t exact place to live,just come and go to the train station everyday at the same place and time.
Have you even considered why Hatchi spent all his life just for waiting? After a long time consideration,I find the answer in the end.The only reason is that Hatchi have nothing but his master.The happiest time of Hatchi is the time with Parker;the most enjoyable time of Hatchi is the time fetching Parker to work.
Just one year after Parker’s death, Ken came to the station and had a look at Hatchi.He felt as sorrow as Hatchi.He tried his best to persuade Hatchi to leave because Parker’s never coming back.But he didn’t succeed,and said “If Hatchiko wants to wait,then Hatchiko should wait.You want to wait for him,didn’t you?Then,you most have a long life.”
Then ten years past,Hatchi became a dirty and rather old guy.Over these years,everything had changed but Hatchi’s endless waiting and loyalty had never changed.One day Parker’s wife backed to the small town and saw Hatchi was still stand there waiting.She cried and said “You,old thing,you are still waiting,let me wait for the next train together with you please.” Hearing these tough words and seeing the loyal dog I cried sadly.
This is Hatchi’s whole life.He almost spent all his life only doing one thing-waiting for its only friend Parker,waiting to complete the uncompleted engagement.
Hatchi’s story showed how great the power of loyalty and love is with all his life.He tell us what the real loyalty and true love is.Because of the real loyalty and true love Hatchi spent all his life waiting;because of the real loyalty and true love Hatchi sacrisficed all his youth just for waiting;because of the real loyalty and true love Hatchi abandon the warm house of Parker’s daughter.I think that is the real loyalty,the ture love.However,in our human life,how many of us can be as loyalty as an animal;how many person can be loyal to another one for even ten years?I think nobody can.
In the end of the film Parker’s grandson asked Kate “Where did grandpa found Hatchi?”She answered “I suppose that Hatchi happened to found your grandpa.”I believe that as soon as Parker and Hatchi happened to meet,Hatchi had already found its own destination, and then the loyalty and love was built.
Loyalty isn’t mean to be that I love you and it won’t change in the next ten thousand years;loyalty isn’t mean to be that I will wait for you for the rest of my life; loyalty isn’t mean to be that I love you beyond myself.However, loyalty is a sense of responsibility; loyalty is a sense of selfness, loyalty is a sense of concern.
The word “loyalty” is consisting of 7 letters, and I think each letter stand for different meanings:

Based on Mark Twains novel, The Millionaire Pound Note takes an interesting satirical look at the hypocrisy stemming from class distinction in the 50s England. England is a country where class and wealth are given extreme significance, especially among the rich. The film shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people, how the rich are quick to change face when in an instant they find out that youre a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost.
Interestingly, The Millionaire also briefly looks at how the English perceived Americans in that era. Rich Americans were welcomed as outsiders and the poor were quickly shunned away. The fact that hes an outsider either makes him more appealing or the complete opposite. The story sticks to the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the movie from being a mockery of the British society. The movie drags at some point but the love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of comedy to keep one entertained. A charming Gregory Peck totally nails the part and the luminous Jane Griffiths is a treat. Reginald Beckwith, as Pecks sidekick Rock is amusing. The ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.

Saving Private Ryan, a film related to World War II, directed by Spielberg, received critical acclaim upon screening. The upsurge of Saving Private Ryan is not only because it is realistic visual impact, what is more important, this film led to an argument about lives.
During World War II, the U.S. and U.K. army landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944. To insure the victory, Private James Ryan (Matt Damon), and his troops --101st Airborne Division, are airdropped behind the German front-lines. Unfortunately, all his three brothers were killed in action at the same time. In order to prevent the unfortunate mother from losing all her four sons, the U.S. command decided to send a special squad to look for James Ryan and take him back safely.
John Miller (Tom Hanks) was chosen as the caption of the rescue squad. He hurried to pick several excellent soldiers and a staff officer who could speak German and French as the squad members. When other soldiers were resting, Miller’s eight-member squad began to look for Ryan, who was in the unknown area controlled by Germans.
When facing all kinds of dangers and death of teammates one by one, the squad members gradually began to doubt the rationality of this task. Is it worthy of saving one soldier at the risk of losing eight soldiers’ lives? The journey of salvation tested every member’s value of human nature.
After experiencing lots of difficulties, the squad found Ryan in a battlefield. But the brave soldier Ryan who had a strong sense of responsibility was not willing to leave his comrades in the battlefield. So the squad decided to fight with the large number of enemies ahead with Ryan and other soldiers. As a result, six people in the eight-member squad died.
Miller was the last man who died in the squad, before his death, Miller entrusted to Ryan: Earn it. What can be understood as" Keep living "or" It is worth saving you”. In order to ensure this action to be worthy, Ryan must keep living and have a good and meaningful life. Miller wanted to tell his died comrades and himself, “This is all worthwhile!”

This comment makes a good conclusion of the theme of Saving Private Ryan. Why should these eight men save one soldier at the risk of death?These sentences give explanations. In order to allow more people to get out of the war and go back home, to achieve freedom and enjoy the colorful life, the squad members defended their positions. The friendship in the war and brotherhood are also bright points in the film.
There is a wonderful line in the film: To the world, you are a soldier; to your mother, you are the whole world. If you insist that this task is not worth, from now on, live carefully, become a good person, be kind to others, and you would learn more from this film.
