This film was absolutely amazing.I have spent hours re-watching various scenes and noticing all the perfection with which they are acted and directed.Its not the violence or action sequences that make this movie so great (although they are well done...),but rather moments like where Mathilda knocks on Leons door.It would be so easy to just film the door opening,but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portmans face,symbolizing something angelic.And the moment has so much more meaning.
I know a lot of people who have seen this film because they are action fans.Im not.But Im glad I finally found it,because its a wonderful film in so many other ways.

The crown jewel of 1995's summer blockbusters appears to have arrived early.It's hard to imagine any motion picture released between now and August matching Mel Gibson's Braveheart for spectacle.With its clashing armies,heartstopping action,and grand sense of romance,this is the sort of film it's a pleasure to see and review.
Let me state my preferences up front.I'm a big fan of the epic adventure,a category in which Braveheart,like cream,rises to the top.There's a lot in this film that's praiseworthy not the least of which is its ambition.Those viewing this picture may be easily reminded of Gettysburg,The Last of the Mohicans,Glory,and such classics as Lawrence of Arabia,El Cid,and Spartacus.The grandeur is certainly present;nevertheless,Gibson gives us not only memorable battles,but characters of real substance.
Borrowingfrommasters like Sam Peckinpah and David Lean,the actor/director has crafted an exceptional cinematic tapestry in only his sophomore effort.Most of the time,three hour movies have a few flat spots,but Braveheart is constantly on the move rivetingfromstart to finish.When theendcredits began to roll,I was hard pressed to accept that nearly 170 minutes had elapsed.
The title character is William Wallace (Gibson),a hero of Scottish history whose legendhas surely outstripped fact (in its own unique way,the film acknowledges this).Wallace fought for Scotland's freedom in the late 13th century,wielding his broadsword and influence to defeat the forces of King Edward I (Patrick McGoohan),the British monarch who had declared himself king of Scotland upon the former ruler's demise.
Braveheart builds slowly to its first gritty climax.Much of the early film concentrates on Wallace's love for Murron (Catherine McCormack).Their courtship is unhurried,yet this is all preparation.The real meat of the story,which includes political mechanations,betrayal,and dramatic battles,is yetto come.Patrick Henry once said,"Give me liberty,or give me death!" It’s not particularly surprising to be disappointed by any puter-animated film not bearing the Pixar logo.In fact,until Shrek,2001’s rollicking success,I wouldn’t have even believed it could happen.What is surprising,is that Ice Age doesn’t even ATTEMPT to reach Pixar’s Toy Story heights,apparently content to revel in its status as Monster’s,Inc.'s second rate,half wit cousin.Ice Age is yet another “extinction for kids” movie,one of many in a long line of baby dinosaurs,pterodactyl eggs,and sympathetic cavemen.This time,it’s the ice age,and wooly mammoths roam the earth alongside primitive man.Strangely enough,in this early world,animals can talk,and humans cannot.But when a group of would-be-enemies discover a lost human baby,wooly mammoth (Ray Romano),saber-toothed tiger (Dennis Leary),and giant sloth (John Leguizamo) must work along side each other in a journey to return the child to its home.
Visually,Ice Age is perhaps the poorest bit of CGI I have ever seen.
Contrasted to the beautiful constructs of Monsters,Inc.;or even the gooey,gloppy creativity of Shrek;Ice Age is nothing but badly rendered polygons and Acme animated characters.No hint of photo-realism here.It’s like paring a Bugs Bunny Cartoon to The Lion King.Actually,I suspect that is exactly what the folks at Ice Age were going for.
Ice Age is really little more than a collection of silly animal gags and Leguizamo one liners.Some of them are even quite funny.If that is all that we’re going for here,then I suppose I’m all for it.But then there are these strange attempts at gut wrenching sappiness,which fall painfully flat amidst sub-video game animation.Frankly,I’m not even sure the CGI they use here is up to the task of displaying the kinds of emotions these people are trying to illicitfromtheir characters.The humans more closely resemble totem poles than they do living,breathing,creatures.It’s laughable watching their polygon-limited faces trying to emote in response to the story’s attempts at heartfelt,soft touches.
Thankfully,the main characters are animals,which are at least bearably rendered to slapstick fun levels.As a result,what slapstick there is,is highly entertaining.Sure,Ray Romano’s vocal talents aren’t particularly spectacular.But Dennis Leary and the always-odd John Leguizamo cover for his mammoth ineptitude without hesitation.
The story itself is bland,boring,and uninspired,as is the almost laughably bad animation.The film’s only real saving graces are some slapstick side trips into the world of an unlucky squirrel and a group of soon-to-be-extinct melon-hoarding dodos.Ice Age’s edy is worthy of Bugs,but unless you’re under 5,you’ll be bored with everything else.

The action really takes off once the movie transitions to animation,and perhaps moves too fast,although the children with me were able to follow it.The animated characters are adorable and even though they are very contemporary,and the movie takes place during the depression,kids will be able to relate to the animated fantasy characters - since they are fantasy characters,there is no reason they can't be contemporary.Overall a nice story for kids,with some good lessons for kids re: love,loyalty,perseverance,intelligence.

Gua Sha is a movie about the difference between Chinese and American culture.The story happens in a Chinese family who lives in American.It mainly related the hero Xu Datong,who is a Chinese,had struggled for 8 years,tried hard to assimilate into American culture,and he as a video games designer in St.Louis had a great success and got his boss's approval and friendship.He and his wife,Jian Ning,son,Dennis,led a happy life in America.He also brought his fatherfromchina to live here together.
One day,Dennis was stomachache,the grandpa used the Chinese traditional therapy to help him to scrapping,named Gua Sha,which leaves bright red marks on the skin.And then,once Dennis had an accident and went to the hospital,the doctor saw that the scar on his back,he doubts if the children was abused at home,so he called the American children protection center,so it causes a lawsuit of child abuse.Thereby,this happy family happened a series of unfortunate.

Brave heart this movie not only let me know the brave,kind-hearted Scotland hero William Wallace,but also make me deeply intoxicated with Scotland bagpipe music in the background of theaccompaniment.
In the movie,Wallace as leader of the uprising troops has won many battles.Such as the Green bridge battle broke the infantry conquer cavalry superstition and captured the England important city Yorktown.This let me see the dawn of victory,but it's not theend.When Wallace was defeated in the battle of Faure Kirk,in which a British army fighting in uaveling the helmet,that moment,he didn't think that was once very trusted noble leader Robert Bruce.He didn't put a sword to Bruce,but the choice of forgiveness.Then lay on the ground,you can see what he’s chilling and sad.Bruce regreted again and said he would never again betray cooperation.For the sake of peaceful reunification ,Wallace sill agreed to go.However,Edinburgh designed to seize Wallace sinistery and sent him to the king.Bruce’s farther tricked Bruce ,Wallace was finally sentenced to death.In this moment ,Ifeel very sad,I really want to see Wallace back instead ofending in death.Is this really is a tragedyNo,Wallace’s spirit has aroused numb people ,they will fight for freedom.
