Dogs belong to the canine.
When a dog follows its nose, its actually being led by thee key senses. Sight:a glimpse of the enemy saves them barking up the wrong tree. Sound: a bark can be a fierce threat, but its also how canines make their long distance calls. Smell: this tells a dog more than all the other senses put together.
Inside its nose are around two hundred million smell sensitive cells, forty times more than in humans. Through them the dogs brain can pick up signals from one molecule of scent in a million. It gives the dog: a completely different picture of the world, based on what it smells, rather than what it sees.
Flowers are irrelevant to a dog. So their scent is meaningless. But food is a serious matter. What to us is an empty plate, is covered with the smell of chicken to a hungry dog.

狗属于犬科劝物。
当狗用鼻子嗅着前行时，实际上有三种感觉在起作用：视觉，瞥一眼就知道敌人在哪儿；听觉，犬吠有一种凶猛的威慑力，这也是犬科动物闽相互嗅寻的方式；嗅觉，能给狗提供的信息比其他感觉总和还多。
狗的鼻孔大约有2亿左右的嗅觉细胞——比人多40倍。通过这些细胞，它的大脑能从100万个气体分子中筛选出1个。根据所闻而不是所见的东西，展现给狗的是一个完全不同的画面。
花对狗来讲无足轻重，所以花香对狗无关紧要。可食物是件大事，对我们来说是一个空盘子，可对一只饥肠辘辘的狗来说却散发着鸡肉的香味。

Nowadays many people like to have dogs as their pets. Dogs are friends of man not only because they are lovely but also because they are faithful to their masters.
Dogs can do a lot of work for man. They play with us. They hunt with us. They keep door for us. But long ago, dogs all over the world were wild.
Dogs can date back to the Stone Age. All dogs have the same ancestor. It is believed that their ancestor was much like a wolf. Other animals, such as the fox, came from this ancestor, too. Hundreds of thousands of years ago, man began to tame wild dogs. After the dogs were tamed, they were trained. The strong dogs became working animals. They were trained to pull heavy loads. They learned to keep an eye on the sheep and other animals. Working dogs had other jobs, too.
Some dogs were not strong. But they could help man hunt for game. Other dogs were best as pets.
Today, there are more than 100 kinds of dogs in the world.

现在许多人都把狗当作他们的宠物。狗是人类的朋友，不仅因为它们可爱，而且因为它们对主人忠诚。
狗能为人类做很多工作。它们可以和我们玩，它们可以跟我们一起打猎，它们可以给我们看家。但是以前世界上的狗都是野生的。
狗可以追溯到石器时代。所有的狗都是同一个祖先，人们相信狗的祖先很像狼。其他动物，如狐狸，也是来自这个祖先。几千年前人类就开始驯服野狗，狗被驯服后，人们就训练它们。强壮的狗成为人类工作的帮手，人们训练它们拉重的货物。它们学会了帮人们照看绵羊和其它的动物。
有些狗不够强壮，但它们能帮人们寻找猎物。还有些狗成了人们的宠物。
目前世界上狗的种类已经达到100多种。
My Pet 我的宠物
I have a lovely pet. It’s a small squirrel. I picked it up in the mountain. It was hurt then by a trap. I saw it and took it home. My father helped me cure it. And then, it stays me all the time. I name it Tommy. Its legs are short but the tail is long. It has light brown hair. Tommy is very lively and it likes jumping. There is a tree in front of my house. It likes playing in that tree very much. Sometime, I can’t find it, but when I call its name, it would show up, because we are good friends.
我有一只可爱的宠物，它是一只小松鼠。我在山上捡到它的，当时它被陷阱弄伤了。我看见了它并把它带回家里。爸爸帮我治好它的伤，从此它就和我待在一起了。我给它起了个名字，叫汤米。它的腿很短，但尾巴很长。它的毛是浅棕色的。汤米很活泼，很喜欢跳跃。我家的房子前面有一棵树，它经常在上面玩耍。有的时候我找不到它，但是只要我一叫它的名字，它就会出现，因为我们是好朋友。
我的宠物 My Pet
I have a lovely pet. Its a small cat. Its name is Candy, becauseit looks like a candy.It has white and blackcolors. Its smaller than general cats. When I first saw it in the market, I liked it. Therefore, I begged my mother bought it to me and I succeeded. It has come to my home for three months. It is attracted. Everyone come to my home likes to play with it.It hides under the sofa or bed often. When I call it, it would react to me. Sometimes, it would walk to me quietly. I like my cat very much.
我有一只可爱的宠物，是一只小猫咪。它的名字叫Candy，因为它长得像糖果。它比普通的猫要小，毛色是黑白的。当我在集市上看到它时，就喜欢上它了，所以央求妈妈给我买下，我成功了。它来我家三个月了，它很受欢迎，每个人都喜欢来我家跟它玩。它经常躲在沙发底和床底下，当我叫它时，它就出来回应我，它走起路来有时很轻盈。我好喜欢我的小猫。

Mother gave me a lovely "pig" made of cloth on my tenth birthday. It was very lovely. The pig was dressed in blue. He had a red face and a little mouth. His two ears were just like two fans. He really looked funny. There was always a smile on his face. He must be a happy "pig" , I think.
我10岁生日那天，妈妈送给我的生日礼物是一个布做的“小猪”。它可爱极了。“小猪”穿着蓝色的衣服。它有一张红红的脸蛋儿，小小的嘴巴。它的两只耳朵像是两把扇子。它看起来真有趣。它总是在微笑。我想它一定是一只快乐的“小猪”。
Dog 狗
When I was picking up my stuff after school, I saw a dog staring at me at the school gate .I was kind of scary. I thought the dog would bite me when I was going out. But it was not. The dog started to follow me. I was very afraid. I started to run away, but the dog did it, either. Suddenly, the dog ran pass away me. I realized the man in front of me was the owner of the dog. I was relieved.
From then on, as long as a dog stares at me, I will look back to have a look whether there is another person near or not.
放学后在我收拾着东西的时候，我看见一只狗在学校门口盯着我看。我有点害怕。我以为狗会咬我，但是当我走出去时。它并没有。狗狗开始跟着我。我很害怕。我开始跑，但是狗狗也跟着。突然，那只狗从我旁边跑过去了。我才发现我前面那个人是狗的主人。我松了一口气。
从那时起，只要有狗狗盯着我，我都会往后看看是不是有人在旁边。
