　　Dear Sir or Madam,

　　I’m writing to lodge the complaint about the poor quality of an air conditioner that I purchased from Sun Appliance Company.

　　Frankly speaking, Sun Appliance has always been my favorite. On December 4th, 20xx, I bought the air conditioner (serial number 12345) from one of your chain stores. The machine operated well at first, but ten days later, there was a fault that bothered me, that is, the fan made so much noise that I could not sleep well at night. Worse still, the heating system didn’t work well and the machine began to leak recently. Its poor quality ruined almost all my previous impression toward your products.

　　I strongly suggest that a repairman should be sent to my home without delay. I wonder if you could find out the exact cause of the problem as soon as possible. If you can’t, I am afraid that I will request for full amount of refund or a new air conditioner.

　　Water is very important to us. If you don’t have water for three days, you will die. We can use water for flowers, swimming, washing and many different things. We use it to cook, make electricity, put out fires and so on. We use millions of liters of water every day.

　　Do you know how does the water come to your home? It travels through water pipes. Some are long and wide but some are short and narrow. Then the water travels through the water pipes to the reservoirs. Then it travels through the water pipes to the river and to the special factories (we call water plants) that purify the water. When the water is purified, we can drink it. Please don’t leave garbage in the water on which we line, and keep the water clean.

　　前一阵，我参加了乔登美语培训学校的英语口语大赛初赛，并且成功进入的总决赛。总决赛将于十月七日在成都举行，我很开心。因为可以去成都玩，获奖者还会有很丰厚的礼品，奖品中还有我最喜欢的拉杆书包！

　　比赛前一天晚上，我开始有点紧张了。爸爸妈妈陪着我在家里练习了一遍又一遍，也给我纠正了许多错误或者不恰当的地方，我自己觉得准备得很好了，就信心满满的上床睡觉了。

　　比赛那天一大早，妈妈把我从床上拎了起来，送到学校和老师同学一起坐校车去成都参加比赛。上车后，我和同学们一起练习，并且互相指正。我们信息十足的说：“一定会成功，加油！”

　　比赛的时候，我被安排在第二个上场。我躲在后台往台下看。哇！观众好多啊！爸爸妈妈也坐在台下。我又开始觉得紧张了。老师鼓励我说：“加油，别紧张！”爸爸妈妈也在台下给我做出了加油的手势，我重新有了信心。这时候，主持人用英语说：“下面有请二号选手陈秋仪上场，请三号选手做准备。”我深吸一口气，走上了舞台。我用流利的'英语做了自我介绍，还讲了一个小故事。在掌声中，我走下了舞台，自我感觉还不错，对着爸爸妈妈做了个胜利的手势，兴奋地说：“应该可以领一个拉杆书包回家，嘢！”

　　但是在观看了后面的同学的表演之后，我的信心开始动摇。因为他们的表现太好了，让我赞叹不已。我的情绪开始有些低落，心想：“我的拉杆书包要‘飞’了！”

　　最激动人心的时刻到来了！在音乐声中，颁奖典礼开始了。我只获得了优胜奖，奖品是一个精美的相册。我眼睁睁的看着一个个精美的拉杆书包到了别人的手中……我不甘心啊！

　　比赛前就觉得自己已经准备得很好了，比赛时也觉得自己表现得很好了。可是还是没有拿到大奖。唉！就像妈妈常说的一样：“人外有人，天外有天！”以后我一定要多参加这样的比赛，赛前一定做好最充分的准备，比赛时一定表现到最好，早晚我要拿个拉杆书包回家！

When that bird flees the imagined danger, the drongo swoops in to take any food left behind.

　　An animal mimicking another animal is not rare. And targets can grow wise to the trick. The drongo’s real talent is that it can do the warning calls of multiple species. [Music plays] Like how Jimmy Fallon can also do Van Morrison.

　　Researchers followed 64 wild drongos for nearly 850 hours. Drongos do sound accurate alarms in response to actual predators. But when they spot a tempting meal in another bird’s possession, they send out a false alarm. Here’s one mimicking a pied babbler. [Drongo call]

　　The researchers saw almost 700 drongo attempts to steal food. They estimate that any one drongo might know up to 32 different species’ alarms.
