这是一个冬天的夜晚，天完全黑了下来，路幽静得吓人。树枝上偶尔一声猫头鹰的悲啼，或斑鸠的一翅“扑棱”，都会让人毛骨悚然。中午我和爸爸赌气没有吃饭，他那凶神恶煞的面孔让我对这个家失去了兴趣，于是我想到了离家出走，气冲冲地离开了这个让人生厌的家。究竟要去哪里，我自己心中也没有目标。
It was a winter night. It was completely dark and the road was frighteningly quiet. Occasionally an owl's cry on the branch, or a dove's wing "flapping", will make people creepy. At noon, my father and I didn't have a meal. His fierce face made me lose interest in this family, so I thought of running away from home, leaving this annoying home in a huff. Where to go, I have no goal in my heart.
远处投来一束灯光让我警觉起来，我想起了小说和电视剧里的恶人抢劫，毕竟我还是一个未成年的女生，于是躲在路旁的树后悄悄地观察起来。一个老大爷拖着一辆车慢慢地走来，前面一位老太婆用手电给他照路。我这才放心地走了出去，却把他们吓了一大跳，原来他们是在前面的集镇上卖完烤红薯回家的。老太婆见只有我一个人，她攥紧我的手生怕我逃跑了似的询问情况。我如实地回答了她的提问，她并没有多说什么，只是从灶膛里拿出了一个热乎乎的烤红薯塞到我手中。我推辞不要，其实肚子饿得“咕咕”直叫，只是口袋里没有钱的.一句托词而已。
A light in the distance makes me alert. I think of the robberies in novels and TV plays. After all, I am a young girl, so I hide behind the trees by the road and watch it quietly. An old man was dragging a car slowly, and an old woman in front of him showed him the way with a flashlight. I just walked out at ease, but scared them a lot. It turned out that they had sold out baked sweet potatoes in the market town in front of them. The old woman saw that I was the only one. She held my hand tightly for fear that I would run away and ask about it. I answered her question truthfully, she didn't say much, just took a hot baked sweet potato out of the stove and put it in my hand. I refuse not to. In fact, I'm so hungry that I'm shouting directly. It's just a pretext that I don't have money in my pocket.
“小姑娘，吃吧，想必你也饿了，这红薯是送给你的，不要钱！”老大爷温和地说。“谢谢了！”我话没说完就狼吞虎咽地吃了起来。他们见我吃得“吧嗒吧嗒”作响一副馋相，老两口于是笑了起来。我一边舔着手指上沾着的薯泥，一边不停地道谢，这时老太婆发话了：“你吃了我一个红薯就千恩万谢，那你的父母养育你十多年，你该吃了他们多少粮食，怎么就为一句不中听的话就离家出走，你觉得这应该吗？”我愣住了，痴痴地望着老太婆，咀嚼着这简单而富有力度的话语，刚刚还愤愤不平的心霎时变得内疚起来，我无言以对，只是低下了尚存余怒的头。
"Little girl, eat it. You must be hungry. This sweet potato is for you. No money!" Said the old man gently. "Thank you!" I gobbled up before I finished speaking. When they saw that I was eating with a greedy look, the old couple laughed. As I licked the mashed potatoes on my fingers, I kept thanking them. Then the old woman said, "thank you so much for eating one of my sweet potatoes. Your parents have raised you for more than ten years. How much food should you eat? How can you run away from home for a bad word? Do you think that's right?" I was stunned, staring at the old woman, chewing the simple and powerful words, and my indignant heart suddenly became guilty. I was speechless, but I lowered my head.
“小姑娘，回家吧，你爸妈肯定会着急的，说不定他们在四处寻你。”老大爷劝慰我说。“我们同走一段吧，等会我们到家后再送你一程。”老太婆拉着我的手往回走。
"Little girl, go home. Your parents will be worried. Maybe they are looking for you." The old man comforted me. "Let's go together. We'll give you a ride when we get home." The old woman took my hand and walked back.
夜更深了，我帮老大爷推着车子往回走，寒风迎面吹来，也没有那么刺骨。猫头鹰偶尔的一声啼叫也不再那么悲凉，斑鸠的“扑棱”也仿佛是在用暖翅给它的孩子遮挡风寒。我聆听着车轱辘的转动声，它和北风的呼啸声交织在一起，好像奏响了一首回家的进行曲。
The night is deeper. I helped the old man push his car back. The cold wind blows in front of him, which is not so sharp. The owl's occasional cry is no longer so sad, and the dove's "flapping edge" seems to be sheltering its children from the cold with warm wings. I listened to the turning of the wheels, which mingled with the roar of the north wind, as if playing a march home.
