　　i am asking to be a student of teaching methodology in your school as yours is well known in this aspect.

　　i have been teaching english in a middle school in beijing for three years. i never get bored with my job or my students. i delight a great deal in XXX interesting lessons more interesting， and XXX boring lessons less so. so i have been keen on ways to improve my teaching， by reading nunan， harper， and widdowson and attending

　　foreign teachers' lectures.

　　i understand that a good teacher of english means a good speaker and writer. that's why i have done a lot to improve my ear and tongue and hand all the time. i have never passed a day without speaking after bbc. i speak english in most everyday situations. in the evening， when i enjoy my retirement and privacy， i seat myself in front of the computer and begin to write my diary. i never run out of things or terms， though admittedly short of time at times. it is great fun to use a computer for writing， which will surely shock shaw and shakespeare.

　　Except one a small man,whose age was hard to tell.He was huddled up in the corner,a few metres from the happy holiday crowds who were hurrying to and from.He was covered in a piece of pale blue cloth.For quite a long time,he was still with out even a slight motion, nor did he make any gestures.

　　Begging for money?or weeping over his misfortune? neither.He was just sitting there,alone and silent.His hair was grey, much like the withered grass,fluttering on a frosted autumn morning.A bird might well have perched on his head for such a cozy nest,if it were not so dirty. his face was pale and twisted. the nose and the mouth were squeezed to one side.His eyes were frosted, looking inward like the windows of a snowbound cottage.

Poisonous food and dead animals were not allowed to be eaten and the water must be cleared over and over again before being drunk. The doctors told them to pay special attention to their health. And that was a sign of victory.

　　What is the most important thing in the world? I think it is health. You can take away our money, house, car, or even our clothes and we can survive. But if our health was taken away, we would surely die. That is why we always try to eat in a healthy way and exercise regularly. In order to eat healthily, I usually avoid eating food high in fat, like French fries or cookies. I also eat little meat. I eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruit which are full of vitamins. Taking exercise every day helps us build a strong body. Regular exercise is an important part of keeping me healthy.

　　What＇s more, I think friends are an important part of one＇s health. Many studies show that people with a wide range of social contacts get sick less than those who don＇t. I always feel better when I am with friends than when I am alone. When I am with my friends, I always laugh. Laughing is also an important part of health. I like to laugh with my friends. By eating properly and exercising regularly, I can keep my body at a proper weight and keep healthy. As a Nanjing resident, however, there is one thing I feel ashamed about. Quite a number of public phones in booths on the streets of Nanjing have been unfortunately damaged, and most of such damages were even done intentionally by some people who are “good at” vandalism. Some receivers, for example, were cut off or broken carelessly. In some extreme cases, phone booths were simply burned to ashes, apparently on purpose.

　　Setting up phone booths adds much modern color to this old city and represents the improvement of Nanjing’s telecommunication system.And most importantly, these public facilities make it possible for people to communicate with each other cheaply and conveniently, which is a great projectthat benefits citizens. Therefore, they should be kept in good conditions and always ready for use. This is very important, for it reflects the civilization level of a city in the eyes of visitors.

　　I think the department concerned should execute stricter management over these facilities and provide timely cleaning and proper maintenance, meanwhile, the media should launch a sweeping campaign toraise people’s awareness of need to protect and take care of public facilities.In some western countries, those who spoil public phones with intentions will be fined heavily and even assume criminal responsibility for such behavior.Nanjing could learn from this practice.
