Chinese Lunar New Year,or Spring Festival falls on January 1st according to the lunar calendar,usually around the late January or early February.As the start of spring as well as a new year,it is the most important celebration of the year.Each family get reunited during the New Year.On the Eve,there is a big dinner for the family when each member return to get together.
The biggest New Year's party is held on CCTV.Hundreds of people gather there,meanwhile millions of others all over the country were sitting in front of the screen to watch excellent performances for more than four hours continuously.The bell strike twelve at midnight to welcome the coming of the New Year or Spring.People start to set off firecraks and say "Happy New Year" to each other.

Most people keen to live in the big cities where are more convenient and the children can receive better education.But the problem is the heavy traffic create too much pollution which does great harm to human's health.
So,to keep ourselves safe,I think we should do at least two things like below.
Firstly,we should obey the traffic rules whenever we are and even when we are in a deadly hurry.If everyone can do so,everything on the road will be in turn well.
Secondly,we should ask ourselves and our relatives and friends to walk instead of riding or driving if possible,when the time is no enough,we must try to take a bus rather than drive a car.More vehicles will of course cause more traffic problems.That's my ideas,I hope it is acceptable.

今天是 12月26日 ，快乐的圣诞节终于来到了，同时我们又迎来了盼望已久的第二届英语节的到来。
下午四点钟，队员们入场了。会场设在学校的学术报告厅，那里早已经是灯火通明，正前方的表演台四周挂满五颜六色的气球，在灯光的照射下，绚丽无比，美丽极了。这时，观众台上也坐满了人，大厅里开着暖气，热烘烘的，整个大厅就像一个大烤箱。
随着主持人宣布，此次英语节正式拉开序幕。首先进行了歌舞表演，精彩的节日让参赛选手们也放松了心情。演讲开始了，第一个上场的是我班的刘汝鸿同学，只见他站在台上，很轻松地讲着，十分流畅，也可能是他久经沙场，习惯了这样的比赛吧！（第一届英语节他也参加了）可是到后面，他有点打顿了，一下子就错了两处。这时，我不禁为自己担心起来，心怦怦直跳，头上也冒汗了。
这时，刘汝鸿讲完了，接下来就轮到我了，我十分紧张地从他手中接过话筒，走上舞台，心跳加剧，“My friends here……”咦？声音怎么这么小，哦，太紧张了，忘记打开话筒了。我急忙打开开关，放开嗓门，开始了我的演讲。
我眼睛目视前方，却不敢看评委，只是集中精力看着桌子，好让自己的'心情平静下来。我双手紧紧地握住话筒，手心都握出汗来了，我认真地背着，心里不停地鼓励自己：“千万别紧张，千万不要出错！”终于，我演讲完毕，深深地向评委鞠了一躬，走下台去。心中的这块大石头总算放了下来。
接下来，我们班的话剧组上场了，我们使劲为他们鼓掌，话剧按原计划有条不紊地进行着，我从心底暗暗为他们加油。当我看了别班同学表演的节目是，彻底失望了，他们那精妙的语言，完美的动作和丰富的表情，让我们个个都看得目瞪口呆。但是，评判结果还没下来，我们也不能长他人志气，灭自己威风啊。
这次英语比赛，既丰富了我的知识，也锻炼了我的胆量，我真希望以后学校多举行这样的比赛。

on the telephone, i told her that i missed her very much. and i invited her to have a cup of coffee with me in a coffeehouse near her home. but to my surprise, she declined and said that she had to devote all her time to her studies. hearing this, i could do nothing but hang up after saying “sorry” to her. disappointed and discouraged, i turned back to my desk and reluctantly buried myself again in my books.

Traffic safety is everybody's business. We must obey the rules.
For example, we must walk on walk side, when we cross zebra – crossing, stop and look right and left, then go across fast. Don’t play football on the road .we can tell our parents not to drink before they drive, not to run through red lights, not to talk and laugh while driving etc.
We can say cars are coming into our life, but only when everybody thinks traffic safety is everybody's business can we be safe driving on roads and walking on sidewalks.
