it was my first day at school. i walked into the building where i was going to live ,and looked at door after door for my name. at last i found it. in the room there was already a student making his bed.
after we said"hello"to each other, he continued his work, paying no attention to me."what a stuck-up fellow,"i thought. i examined the room. it was not different in the fittings and furnishings from any other room i had seen. but it had been thoroughly cleaned by my new roommate, no doubt.
i looked at him. he was thin, short, and dark. his hair was like a bundle of straw. his dirty clothes and tired look were clearly signs of a long journey . his clothes were made of cheap cloth. the coat was too short and the trousers were too loose. and he wore a pair of rubber shoes , which were very unfashionable. he did not look like a smart senior student at all . “奶奶要学英语啦！奶奶要学英语啦！”这个消息传开后，家里就像炸了锅一样，妈妈说：“您老了就别折腾了，别累坏了身体。”爸爸呢？撇嘴一笑转身走开了。我看出了奶奶的心思，站在一旁不服气。于是和奶奶站在了统一的战线上，并主动主动地担起了奶奶学习英语的艰巨任务。奶奶看看我，就对他们不满意地说：“哼！你们不服气，等着瞧吧！恒恒肯定会把我教会的。”大伙儿都散开后我就纳闷儿：奶奶为什么要学英语呢？后来才明白邻居家的王大爷这几天不知从哪儿学了几句英语见到奶奶就两眼笑眯眯地炫耀说："goodmooning""goodbye"这可急坏了我这争强好胜的奶奶。因为她可是从来不服输的。
说起来容易做起来难，真是不教不知道，一教吓一跳。我原本以为我学英语都够笨了，想不到奶奶比我还笨，一句简单的英语"goodbye"竟然学了一个小时，楞是被奶奶说成了“狗他伯。”可是老态龙钟的奶奶却不气馁。经过了一个上午的学习，奶奶终于学会了几个简单的英语。看到奶奶脸上幸福的笑容，我也暗暗地松了一口气。
奶奶年龄大了，记忆力开始减退了，不管学成什么样都是可以理解的.。这时再想想我年轻少壮的还不如奶奶学习时的那股钻劲，真是羞愧难当。同时，我才深刻体会到做老师的辛苦。通过这件事情，我明白了做任何事情都是不容易的。也从奶奶身上学到了只要不放弃就一定会成功的。以后我要好好学习，决不输给我的奶奶。
