Teaching aims for this unit:

2010-2011下英语六年级教学设计

1.掌握课后生词表中28个四会单词。动词短语catch ahare,jump in the water,swim across alake,walk through the snow,run up the hill。句型What's over there?It's always dark.。Do you like…?What can Ido?

2.理解本单元所涉及的词汇或句子。复习巩固who,what,where,when等疑问词的用法。

3.了解北极区域附近动植物,人们的生活状态。增强学生地理、人文方面的知识。

4.通过设计一系列任务型学习活动,引导学生用英语做事,体验语言学习的乐趣,逐步培养学生综合语言运用能力。

Keystone:能正确的听说读写本单元要求的四会单词和句型。

Difficulty:训练学生对大信息量的材料的阅读理解能力。

Period:五课时

Teaching aid:

教师:准备教学录音磁带,玩具熊,47页书上三幅插图,动物图片,四会单词卡片(可让学生帮忙),小黑板。

学生:准备彩色笔,练习本。

第一课时

Teaching content:P46,"Listen and say the chant"

Teaching aims:

1.Cognitive aims:

掌握单词life polar bear arctic hare lake hill top across.短语catch ahare,jump in the water,swim across alake,walk through the snow,run up the hill.句型What's over there?

能听懂会说句型:What's he doing over there?

What's not there?

He comes to the top.

2.Ability aims:

通过讨论活动启发学生的表达欲望,锻炼口头表达能力。

3.Emotional and culture aims:

(1)了解一些北极动物的生活情况。

(2)用chant,mime action等多种活动形式,培养学生学习英语的兴趣。

Keystone and Difficulty:掌握句型What's over there?,听懂会说本课chant.

Teaching aid:四会单词卡片,polar bear和Arctic hare的动物图片,玩具熊

Teaching procedure

Ⅰ.Warming-up 1.听音乐,师在前面领跳领说chant:jump,jump,jump in!swim,swim,swim across!walk,walk,walk through.!run,run,run up!

2.重放音乐,师用动作提醒,生跟做并say chant.

Ⅱ.Presentation.

1.Discusion.

⑴在黑板上用简笔画画出北极雪景图(包括雪山、冰湖、雪地和北极熊)

并提问:Where is it?Why do you think so?引出本单元课题"Life in the Arctic",并教读单词"arctic".

⑵班内展开讨论:What do you know about arctic?让生尽可能多说一些关于北极的词汇,师将其翻译成英文如polar bear,igloo,snow,hill,low temperature等等。

⑶将polar bear,arctic hare,water,lake,snow,hill top分别标在黑板上并教读。

2.感知chant节奏内容

⑴师站在黑板旁边,遥指polar bear问:"What's over there?"生回答"polar bear",让生明白本句话表达"那是什么"的意思。

⑵师板书"What's over there?"放chant第一段,让学生跟读练习。

⑶pair work:利用黑板上的词汇进行对话练习。(如What's over there?Arctic hare.)

3.练习对话"What's he doing over there?He wants to catch ahare."和"what's not there?The arctic hare."在polar bear边画上来帮助解释"want"的意思。

4.放chant前三段。生跟读,重点纠正读音错误。

5.Relax.:放全部chant,前三段边念边说,后两段师拿出一个玩具北极熊,师生边听边看玩具熊的动作并模仿。反复一次。

6.放第四、五段chant,生听并模仿动作。师在黑板上画出polar bear一系列的动作并进行标记。教单词"across""top".注意纠正动词后面"s"的读音。

top hill jump in the water run up the hill swim across the lake walk through the snow lake snow 7.听音乐看着黑板上的词句进行练习。当生熟练之后,不放音乐,边说边做动作,练习最后两段。

Ⅲ.Consolidation.

1.全班齐念chant,选择几名学生在前面表演北极熊的.一系列动作,选出"the best actor"让他带全班同学一起边念边做。

2.小组内互相练习。

3.复习单词life polar bear arctic hare lake top across.短语catch ahare,jump in the water,swim across alake,walk through the snow,run up the hill.句型What's over there?

Ⅳ.Application.

1.完成作业。抄写单词polar bear arctic hare top across.看书上插图回答问题:①Where is it?②What's over there?③What's he doing over there?

2.利用课余时间,寻找关于北极爱斯基摩人的生活资料。

第二课时

Teaching content:P46."Read the text."

Teaching aims:

1.Cognitive aims:

⑴掌握单词winter summer cold dark build inside warm.句型It's always dark.

⑵能听懂会说单词most,igloo,snowmobile认识短语northern Canada

⑶理解本课课文.

2.Ability aims:

⑴通过阅读学习,增强学生阅读理解能力。

⑵通过有生词的阅读材料的理解训练,锻炼学生对文章的把握能力。培养语感。

⑶培养学生收集资料能力。

3.Emotional and culture aims:

⑴了解生活在北极圈附近的人们的生活状况。了解北极的气候,极昼和和极夜等。

⑵知道北极圈附近所在的国家地理位置。

Keystone and Difficulty:理解本课课文,知道那里人们的生活状况。

Teaching procedure

Ⅰ.Warming-up 1.Say chant,move body.

2.Review:师提问What's over there?用上节课所学的单词做回答的替换练习。最后出示书上图片2,3,引出snowmobile,igloo.

3.Today,let's see the man in the arctic.

Ⅱ.Presentation.

1.出示图片2、3,问How do you think their life?引导生想象那里的气候环境。生自由发言,引出短语very cold,always dark,never dark,build an igloo.

2.板书:It's always dark.

⑴.用dark,cold,nice等词做替换练习。

⑵.用人称he,she等和happy,sad,lovely等形容词做替换练习。让学生用always造句。

3.播放录音"Most do the year,it's very cold here.…it's never dark.听音跟读。

4.师拿出一幅地图,指出arctic,Canada,America,northern Canada的位置,让生理解northern Canada的含义。

5.师:Now,I will introduce two friends to you.出示图片1,播放课文录音(前2句)。

Ask:What's his name?Where does he live in?(反复播放录音,听音回答。然后翻开书,让生检查是否正确。)师利用地图解释Grise Fjord的方位,表示北加拿大一个地区的名称。

6.跟随课文录音,齐读前半部分。

7.听后半部分录音。提问:What colour is the igloo?Who is building the igloo?Why did they build igloo?引导生用课文中的话来回答。画简笔画解释inside和build。

8.跟录音齐读全文。

Ⅲ.Application.

1.Ask:What did you collect about arctic?让生分小组自由交换所搜集的资料。交流时尽可能的使用英文词汇。

2.讨论:Would you like to live in Arctic?Would you like to live in an igloo?

3.完成练习---根据书中三幅插图填空:

4.预习下节课的内容"Animals of the Arctic",划出不懂的生词和短语,对照词典找出生词意思。

第三课时

Teaching content:P48-49."Read the text.then do the quiz."

Teaching aims:

1.Cognitive aims:

⑴掌握单词cannot hunt fur group daytime,also bird.复习巩固疑问句、疑问词的用法。

⑵能听懂会说seal,arctic fox,snowy owl,lemming.短语live in group,make tunnel.

⑶了解句子Other animals cannot see them when they hunt.中"when"的两种用法。

⑶理解本课课文

2.Ability aims:

⑴.通过阅读学习,增强学生阅读理解能力。

⑵.通过填表和回答问题练习,培养学生阅读归纳能力。

⑶.通过课前预习和课上讨论形式,培养学生自学能力。

3.Emotional and culture aims:

⑴了解在北极生活的动物类别、习性等,丰富他们的科学自然知识。

⑵通过小组活动,培养学生的合作互助意识

Keystone and Difficulty:理解本课课文,归纳整理每段话之意。

Teaching aid:单词卡片,课文录音,学生准备彩色笔。

ⅠWarming-up 1.Say chant:(师提问,生指自己相应部位答)

2.师生对话复习疑问词:

When do you get up?When is it very hot in Wuhan?

How big is your schoolbag?

Where are you from?Where is your pencil case?

How often can you jump in aminute?

What's your favourite food?What's favourit food of your mother?

Ⅱ.Presentation.

1.师提问:What's favourit food of polar bear?不翻书,让生想象回答:fish?Arctic hare?…然后听课文录音回答。

2.翻开书,寻找答案。Their favourite food is seal.Polar bears also hunt the arctic hare。拿出生词卡片,带读"seal"(用图片解释)"hunt""cannot"(用动作提示)"also"("also"means"too")。
