Unit 9 Have you ever been to an amusement park Section A Target Language a. Words and expressions: Amusement, park., museum, water ark, zoo, neither, have a great time b. Key sentences: Have you ever been to? Yes, I have been to... No, I haven’t been to… Teaching objectives a. Ability goals: Enable the students to talk about where they have been by using Present Perfect Tense. b. Learning ability goals: Help students learn how to talk where they have been. Teaching important and diffcult points Understand the difference between Present tense and simple past tense Teaching aids Tapes, PPT, Pictures, white papers, chalk, black board Teaching procedure Step 1:Lead-in The teacher and the students watching a period of a video use PPT and enjoy the English song. Then ask and answer some questions between teacher and students. T: do you think it is fun? What are they doing? Do you like traveling? OK. Today we’re going to talk about some interesting places we have been to or we’re going to. That’s Unit 9 Have you ever been to an amusement park? ( show the students the amusement park on the rideo) T: look, this is an amusement park, isn’t it? Step 2: Learn the new words: a. Use pictures to introduce the words. b. Listen ( 2a 2b) get the students to look at the map of the town . Then listen and circle the places they hear, Let the students listen and circle T or F. c. Choose appropriate new word and complete the sentence. Step 3. Presentation and practice. Presenting some pictures of amusement park, zoo… Teacher demonstrates first and then students look at the pictures and make similar diologues in pairs. A. Have you ever been to …? B. Yes, I have. What about you ? No, I haven’t . What about you ? A. Me too. / So am I . I haven’t. Step 4. A task: use what is learned to do an investigation. Step 5. Summary and homework. a. Today we met so many interesting places. Can you guess which place I would like to visit most? ( showing some pictures about Disney) b. Write a passage about one of your classmate’s experience.
