Apple Lowers Price of8GBiPodTouch to$199 Apple announced its newiPodtouch lineup today.TheiPodtouch features Apple's Multi-Touch user interface,a 3.5-inch widescreen glass display,Wi-Fi,Bluetooth,a built-in accelerometer and abuilt-in speaker.Apple lowered the price of the8GBiPodtouch to$199.Apple also announced two new models,aiPodtouch 32GBmodel for$299 and a64GBmodel for$399.Apple Insider says the new models promise a50%faster performance.
"At just$199 theiPodtouch is the most affordable gateway to Apple's revolutionary App Store with more than 75,000 applications that you can wirelessly download right into youriPodtouch,"said Philip Schiller,Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing."You get agreatiPod,a great pocket computer with the industry's best mobile web browser and agreat game player,all in this super-thin beautiful enclosure."
There was some dissapointment that the newiPo dtouch devices did not contain cameras,which had been rumored in the weeks leading up to Apple's announcement.The newiPodnanos do have video cameras.Even without avideo camera the$199iPodtouch is likely to be very popular over the holidays.$199 agreat price for an attractive,easy-to-use gadget that provides access to ahuge numbers of applications,videos,music and games.
