。这样好吧?"every Jack" 是口语「每个人」的意思。
"upset" 是「难过、不开心」的意思。如: "He was only joking with you. There's no need to be upset about it." (他只是在跟你开玩笑的, 你没有必要因此心情不好呀!)。
12. Beauty is in the eyes of beholder 情人眼里出西施
A: I don't know what Jared sees in Chloe. She's not even pretty.
A: 我真不明白 Jared 是看上 Chloe 那一点。她又不漂亮。
B: Well, Beauty is in the eyes of beholder.
B: 嗯, 情人眼里出西施。
嘿嘿嘿...很多女孩子常常看到自己喜欢的男孩子和别人在一起, 便会酸酸的说像A所说的话。
"see something in someone" 是从某人身上看到什么的意思。
13. tie the knot 结婚
A: Hey, when are you and Dana going to tie the knot?
A: 嘿! 你跟 Dana 何时要结婚呀?
B: Soon.
B: 快了，

由可口的 Keanu Reeves 跟 Aitana Sanches-Gijon 合演的电影「漫步在云端」(A walk in the clouds) 里有一段女主角不知情的弟弟对和Reeves假结婚的姐姐说: "You got hitched?" (你被套牢了啊!), 也是结婚的另一个说法。
还有另一个针对女孩子结婚的用法是"walk down the aisle" (从走道走下来)。这里的' "aisle" 指的是教堂里的走道。有意思吧!
14. dump 甩
A: Greg, I'm seeing somebody else now.
A: Greg, 我现在跟别人在一起了。
B: What? Are you trying to tell me that I'm getting dumped?
B: 什么? 你是要告诉我我被甩了吗?
"dump" 是「丢掉」的意思, 在于男女关系里就变成甩了。福斯公司的电视剧艾莉的奇想世界(Ally McBeal) 是部很可爱的节目。 有一次 Alley 知道自己被甩了, 脑海里变浮现自己被从垃圾车里倒到箱子里的样子, 很好玩。
15. ex-girlfriend/boyfriend.. 前任男/女朋友/...
A: Who called?
A: 谁打来的电话啊?
B: My ex-boyfriend.
B: 我的前任男朋友。
"ex" 是"former「从前的」的意思。也可以用 "old + 身份" 来表示。如 "my ex-boyfriend" 和 "my old boyfriend" 是一样的。只是 "ex-" 的用法比较普遍。
