当前我国教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）界关注的焦点是“应试教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）”向素质教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）的转轨。对于这个转轨的实质，教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）理论界尚缺乏 统一的认识，这就导致目前素质教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）从概念到具体操作都出现见仁见智现象的重要原因。我们认为教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）在本质 上是素质教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网），“应试教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）”是教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）本质的一种异化现象。“应试教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）”向素质教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）转变的实质是教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）本质的 回归。
一、教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）在本质上应该是素质教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）
关于教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）的本质，古今中外的许多教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）家、思想家都作过不同的论述。我国孟轲在《孟子．尽心篇》中最 早说：“得天下英才而教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）之，三乐也”。《中庸》上说：“修道之谓教”。《荀子．修身》中说：“以善先 人者谓之教”。《说文解字》中说：“教，上所施，下所效也”、“育，养子使作善也”。在西文，夸美纽斯 主张：“教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）在于发展健全的个人”。卢梭则认为：“植物是由栽培而成，人是教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）而成。”裴斯塔洛齐更是 明确提出：教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）是“依照自然法则，发展儿童道德、智慧和身体各方面的能力。”杜威说：“教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）即生活”、 “教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）即生长。”苏联巴拉诺夫等认为：“教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）就是形成个性的一个因素。教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）就是人们想用某些手段达到一 定目的，即发展和形成受教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）者的一些特定品质。”综上先哲们教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）实质的观点，尽管渗有他们各自的哲学观 、社会观、伦理观，反映着不同的时代、不同阶级的要求，但他们的论述却集中在一个基本的共同点上，即把 教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）看作是培养人的活动，其目的在于促使个体社会化，促使受教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）者的身心得到发展，在知识、品格等方面 都能适应社会的需要。而个体先天自然因素和后天的社会因素包括知识技能、文化涵养、心理品质等的“合金 ”就构成了个体的素质，所以教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网络xfhttp教育网）在本质上就是培养个体的素质，即素质教育（www.xfhttp.com－雪风网
